Like you are almost punished for growing your kingdom, like you get new peasants but you need to use 90% of them just for things to AVOID COLLAPSING YOUR KINGDOM, its really strange, you do that all annoying micro and your gift, is nothing, its extremely tedious and soul draining, very few crusader players liked the game when came out for this very reasonĢ, Extremely unbalanced units, I think this game has the worst in the series, maybe toppled by legends, anyway that Knight could unmount from horse, it was very cheap, and yet so extremely broken that nothing else was worth using.ģ, Most of the AI-s was extremely weak on skirmish mode And only 4 lords at launch unforgivableġ, First attempt at 3d which shows, but more than that the extremely needy system of micro regarding economy, and I feel like the wrong kind micro.

+1 The extremely lazy limits regarding Fear Factor and "Church" system, feels forcedly tackled on the game, at high pop doesnt even work. Now add to fact that the build area is so extremely small and limitedģ, Warlord system, its just way too micro on wrong part of the game(not the units but that boring screen), and feels unnecessary most players would prefer to turn them off, too much work for little benefit, changes the game feel.

I think the last 3 are obvious, and well known by the community why so disliked, so no surprises there.įor the Warlords failure I have 3 main reasons:ġ, The theme change from EU to Asia was just too much for the fans, not to mention that there was no factions, grouping together chinese, mongol, japan was felt so wrong I thinkĢ, The extremely low pop limit, stronghold players love to clash with big armies, this game had the lowest pop limit ever in the series, its really different from others, even after a little increase it just broke the AI since AI still plays with low pops for most part. 6, Stronghold Crusader Extreme HD (119 avg.players)Ģ, Stronghold Crusader 2 (466 avg.players)ġ, Stronghold Crusader HD (1013 avg.players)
